question comes up as what skills architects need. Often architects come equipped with experience in 
software development or modeling. However, often what makes the difference in the success of failure of 
an architecture are organizational factors. Software architects' toolkits are not complete unless they 
have an understanding of the kinds of organizational issues they'll face, and approaches for addressing 
them. The article draws on comparisons to the develoment of building architecture as a discipline.
